This is a key post as a DT Technician

The successful candidate will take up their post from 2 September 2024, subject to satisfactory clearances.

The Design Technology Department is a thriving, dynamic, and supportive team in which to work. We currently offer KS4 Product Design, Textiles, Hospitality and Catering, and Engineering as well as Product Design and Textiles at KS5. Our KS3 curriculum covers all aspects of paper and board, coding, textiles, electronics, metals, timbers, and food, therefore providing a forward thinking, modern, and exciting approach. SMRT is committed to creative subjects as part of its Christian vision. We are also committed to gender equality within the field of DT. The department is well resourced with specialist rooms.

This post provides a unique opportunity to develop new skills in a school which has a compelling vision and deep commitment to providing exceptional teaching and learning.

The Role

This post is 30 hours per week and graded BG8, term time only + 5 INSET days. The current post holder works 4 days each week, from 8am to 4pm, with 30 minutes for an unpaid lunchbreak. The salary is BG8, which is currently equivalent to £26,873 rising to £28,770 per annum (gross). Working term time only and part time will impact on the actual salary paid. If appointed, you would start at the bottom of the BG8 salary range.

The School

St Mary Redcliffe and Temple is a successful and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1750 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond. The Redcliffe Sixth Form Centre currently houses approximately 700 students from our own school and from many other schools across the City.
