The Role
We are advertising for a part time (approx. 0.60 FTE) Science teacher. The post is available from 1 September 2026, subject to reference and satisfactory clearances, and is a permanent contract.
This post provides a unique opportunity to develop new skills in a school which has a compelling vision and deep commitment to providing exceptional teaching and learning.
Candidates must be able to teach Science to KS3, Combined Science to KS4 (GCSE), and Physics to KS4 (GCSE) and KS5 (A Level).
The Science team seek to deliver lessons which challenge all students by using a full variety of teaching and learning strategies. The student lies at the heart of the assessment process, and we use a wide range of formative, evaluative, and summative approaches to support them in their learning. Science is a popular subject, and the department is a successful one and has been for many years. Students in recent years have gone on to study a Science or Medicine at top universities, including Oxbridge, and there is considerable support and encouragement for these students from the department. It is a friendly department with a well-qualified, committed team of subject specialists, who enjoy working collaboratively. The department is well supported with three technicians and has many dedicated rooms which are all situated together.

The School
We are a successful and heavily oversubscribed 11-18 co-educational, Church of England, comprehensive school of over 1750 students, serving families from the whole of greater Bristol and beyond. We are located at the heart of the city and have a diverse student community with considerable parental support. Our diversity is a strength and something we celebrate. The Redcliffe Sixth Form Centre currently houses approximately 700 students from our own school and from many other schools across the City.

The closing date for receipt of a completed application form and our teaching experience sheet (Word Documents) by the School is Monday 18 May 2026 (by 10am). We plan to interview the same week, i.e. before the end of Term 5.

When providing details of your referees you must include their e-mail address. References must span the last 5 years of employment history in accordance with KCSIE guidance. Please include a referee from your current post (principal or headteacher) and if you have worked in multiple settings in this 5-year period, you should have included a referee from each setting.
