Job Title: Family Support Worker

Actual Annual Salary: £9,647 - £10,669

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £34,740 - £38,419 (CLF Grade E) - Based on 37 hours per week, term time only. 

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Part-time, 12 hours per week, term time only + insets.

Additional role info: Working Pattern - Tuesday, other days to be decided.

An opportunity to work with students and families of this Outstanding Primary academy in Weston super Mare:

Haywood Village are looking for a Family Support Worker who will provide high quality, impartial, be solutions focussed and provide pastoral support and guidance to children and their families.  They will enable children to achieve to their full potential, raise aspirations and facilitate academic progress.  Will work in partnership with parents to strengthen parental capacity, promote understanding of their child’s needs, improve family relationships and increase parental engagement. The role will also involve working with another Family Support Worker at HVA, our safeguarding team, the Attendance Lead, and Inclusion team to identify families for the Family Support Worker to work with to support improving attendance at school.

About you: 

 You will: 

  • Have an understanding of the range of issues that can affect young people and their families, and disadvantaged sections of the community.
  • Knowledge or experience of the common/single assessment framework procedure
  • Educated to AS/A level or equivalent qualifications or experience.
  • Full clean driving licence – willing to travel to other sites or home visits
  • Proven experience with working with young people and their families in education or related areas.
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Be someone who can motivate and inspire young people and their families

Safeguarding Statement:

The Cabot Learning Federation are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role has significant responsibility for ensuring safeguarding practice within the academy. This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
