HEAD OF FINANCE

Grade 12 (Local Government Service, £52,775 - £56,555)

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to join a new and developing multi-academy trust in Leicester. We are looking to appoint an exceptional finance professional to lead our newly created centralised finance team as well as support the work of the Chief Financial Officer and the trust.

What you’ll do:

• Lead on the creation of monthly consolidated accounts
• Maintain robust financial systems and procedures
• Analyse data and trends to inform trust decisions
• Collaborate with department heads and schools in ensuring value for money
• Working with internal and external auditors
• Prepare short, medium and long term plans and provide expert advice and support
• Deputise for the CFO
• Ensure the trust is adhering to the Academies Trust Handbook

We are looking for:

• A qualified accountant with post qualification experience and excellent technical knowledge
• Strong communication skills, both orally and written
• Someone with a track record of leading a finance function and developing it further
• Previous experience working within the education sector is an advantage, but not essential
