Site Manager

Salary scale: Grade 6 Points 15-18, £32,061 - £34,434

Hours of work: Full time, 37 hours per week

Split shift during term time, some weekend work required

Our recent Ofsted inspection rated Soar Valley to be outstanding in all categories; we have high standards in all areas of our work and we are looking to appoint a Site Manager with a similar commitment to bringing excellence to our facilities and buildings, taking a real pride in your work and ensuring premises are safe, welcoming and of the highest standard for all our users.

Most of our school site is managed through a PFI contract and by an external provider, but we have some additional facilities which are ‘ours’, with plans to expand further. The Site Manager plays a fundamental role in the smooth and efficient running of these facilities. We also liaise closely with other schools in our Trust and some work on other sites may be necessary on occasions.

The post holder will be expected to work in a flexible way to meet the needs of the school, combining planned and regular maintenance and compliance tasks with day-to-day needs and emergency situations. The role includes carrying out a full range of duties to provide for the security and safety of the buildings and people. It involves working on your own initiative as well as under the direction of the Business Manager.

The successful candidate will have some experience in a similar role or be able to demonstrate the ability to carry out maintenance and DIY tasks, plus an awareness and knowledges of health and safety procedures and requirements. Previous education sector experience is welcomed but not essential as training specific to various aspects of the role can be provided. It is much more important to us that we recruit someone with the right approach and who will fit into our superb team here.

Please see our website for further details about the school in general. Should you require further information or wish to arrange a visit, please contact our Personnel Manager,

Closing date – 9am Wednesday 19th November 2025
