Teacher of Art – MPR/UPR (Temporary for 1 year)

Positions at Soar Valley don’t come up very often, and this is a fantastic opportunity for a highly competent and enthusiastic teacher to join our very successful and well-resourced department from the beginning of the new academic year, August 2025. We offer a superb environment in which to continue or begin your teaching career, and we welcome applications from those wishing to offer full or part time, from both experienced teachers and ECTs.

The arts are a significant and thriving part of the curriculum at Soar Valley. The Art department is high achieving, supportive and very collaborative in their approach. A large number of students opt to take the subjects at Key Stage 4 and results are very strong, thanks to the excellent leadership and fantastic team spirit of collaborative working within the team.

Ofsted rated Soar Valley an outstanding school where ‘teaching is exemplary’ and ‘students are proud to belong to the college’; this was back in 2014 and still remains the case today. We regularly have external reviews of the school which continue to support this judgement and challenge us to be even better!

We believe we have a unique ethos, and feedback from visitors reinforces this. Ours is a school with a vibrant mix of cultures, and where relationships between all are a real strength; they contribute massively to our success. We value and celebrate effort above all else with our students, constantly striving for them to be the best they can be. We are committed to high standards, raising achievement and developing excellence in our staff and students, and we do all of this within a very caring environment. The curriculum is vibrant and engaging, promoting the love of learning and preparing young people for the next steps in their lives. Academic outcomes and progress measures are strong every year, with a Progress 8 of +0.7 for each of the last two years.

Amongst other things, you will benefit from:

• A strong personalised professional development programme, whatever your starting point

• A clear and well-structured induction programme to support you as you start in a new school

• Being part of a superb team of specialists, who work extremely effectively together and also show individualism in their approaches

• A culturally diverse and highly motivated student body

• Being in a school where relationships are a real strength and outcomes very strong.

• Excellent facilities to support learning.
