Teacher of English
MPR/UPR Full-time or Part-time
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly competent, conscientious and enthusiastic teacher to join our excellent English team from the start of the new academic year. We welcome applications from both early career teachers and those with more experience, and those wishing to offer full or part time.
Our English Department achieves excellent outcomes consistently. The team is large and highly supportive and collaborative in approach and way of working. Students are taught in mixed ability groups throughout, and we have invested in additional staffing from Year 9 onwards, making class sizes in English approximately 22/23.
Soar Valley College has a unique ethos. We value and celebrate effort above all else, constantly striving for students to be the best they, as individuals, can be. We are a heavily over-subscribed 11-16 school committed to high standards, raising achievement and developing excellence in our staff and students, and we do all of this within a very caring environment. The curriculum is vibrant and engaging, promoting the love of learning and preparing young people for the next steps in their lives. Ofsted rated Soar Valley an outstanding school where ‘teaching is exemplary’ and ‘students are proud to belong to the college’, and this still remains the case today. Academic performance across the school is strong, with very good attainment and excellent progress measures every year.
Please see our website for further details. Interested candidates are welcome to visit the school before making an application should they wish by contacting Smita Stone, SLT PA, to arrange this.
