Teacher of English – MPR/UPR
Positions at Soar Valley don’t come up very often, and this is a fantastic opportunity for a highly competent and enthusiastic teacher to join our very successful (and large!) English department from the beginning of the new academic year, August 2026. We offer a superb environment in which to continue or begin your teaching career, and we welcome applications from those wishing to offer full or part time, from both early career teachers and those with more experience.
Our recent Ofsted inspection in March 2025 judged Soar Valley to be Outstanding in all four categories, an outcome of which we are very proud. The first sentence of the report sums up our school: “There is a very strong sense of community at the school, where pupils and staff genuinely care for one another.” Please do read the report for more information – we are very proud of it!
Ours is a school with a vibrant mix of cultures, and where relationships between all are a real strength, which contributes massively to our success. We value and celebrate ‘effort’ above all else with our students, constantly striving for them to be the best they can be. We are committed to high standards, raising achievement and developing excellence in our students and staff, and we do all of this within a very caring environment.
Amongst other things, as a Soar Valley member of staff you will benefit from:
• A strong personalised professional development programme, whatever your starting point
• A clear and well-structured induction programme to support you as you start in a new school
• Being part of a superb team of specialists, who work extremely effectively together and also show individualism in their approaches
• A culturally diverse and highly motivated student body
• Being in a school where relationships are a real strength and outcomes very strong (P8 2024 = +0.7)
• Excellent facilities to support learning.
