Teacher of Mathematics
MPR/UPR
To start Autumn Term 2026
This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly competent, conscientious and enthusiastic teacher to join our excellent Mathematics team from the start of the new academic year. We welcome applications from both early career teachers and those with more experience, and those wishing to offer full or part-time.
Our Mathematics Department achieves excellent outcomes, and is a very supportive and cohesive team. Soar Valley is also the local hub school for maths in the city, organising and delivering CPD for heads of departments and classroom teachers, so it is an exciting place to be!
Our recent Ofsted inspection judged Soar Valley to be Outstanding in all four categories. The first sentence of the report sums up our school: “There is a very strong sense of community at the school, where pupils and staff genuinely care for one another.” Please do read the report for more information – we are very proud of it!
We believe Soar Valley College has a unique ethos. We value and celebrate effort above all else with our students, constantly striving for them to be the best they can be. We are committed to high standards, raising achievement and developing excellence in our staff and students, and we do all of this within a very caring environment. The curriculum is vibrant and engaging, promoting the love of learning and preparing young people for the next steps in their lives. Academic performance across the school is very strong, with strong attainment across the whole curriculum and excellent progress measures every year (P8 2024 = +0.74).
Please see our website for further details about the school in general and the department more specifically. Should you require further information please contact our Personnel Manager, Smita Stone
Closing date: 9am Monday 2nd March 2026.
