Health, Safety and Environment Manager (Full-time)
Salary: Up to £40,680 (depending on qualifications and experience and to include a market supplement of up to £5k for a strong candidate with experience in the FE sector) pro-rated.
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year)
Location: Cross-campus (Sparsholt and Andover campuses)

The post holder will take overall responsibility for health, safety and associated environmental risks, reporting and coordination of work systems to ensure that the working conditions of the College are compliant with all relevant health and safety legislation. They will also be responsible for all safety aspects of the built estate including asbestos, legionella and fire. They will also support the College in working towards renewed ISO 14001 accreditation and delivering best practise.
The role will involve working closely with all departments to advising on audit activity risk assessments, providing advice on Health and Safety matters including investigation and review of all incidents and accidents. The post holder will also lead on challenging, changing and improving the College’s safety culture across all campuses and activities. Please see job description for full details.
Candidates should have the following relevant skills and experience:
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Environmental knowledge
- Building and Construction risks
- DSE Advanced Assessor’s experience
- Health and Safety Officer experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Report writing skills
Experience of developing and reviewing approaches to environmental management in line with ISO14001 is desirable.

Whilst the post is principally based at the Sparsholt campus the successful applicant will need to travel and work at the Andover campus as required.
