We are seeking and individual to undertake a dual role of:
Instructor / Game and Wildlife (0.5 FTE) - Up to £25, 611 pro-rated (dependent upon qualifications and experience)
Apprenticeship Progress Mentor / Game and Wildlife (0.5 FTE) - Up to £ 31,773 pro-rated (dependent upon qualifications and experience)
Sparsholt College has a national reputation of training gamekeepers and wildlife managers, many of whom are now in key roles across the whole of the UK.
We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to work as an Instructor/Apprenticeship Progress Mentor. The role involves supporting apprentices and liaising with the estates who employ them, as well as instructing learners and apprentices in a range of gamekeeping, land and wildlife management skills when they are at college on their periods of blocks of study. The role will also include working closely within a supportive Land and Wildlife team, delivering learning to other (non-apprentice) gamekeeping students at the campus.
Candidates should have experience of gamekeeping including working in a related role. Ideally you will hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject. You will also need to be self-motivated and have the aptitude to work with young people and a desire to help to educate the next generation of gamekeepers and wildlife managers. The successful applicant will be trained and supported to attain recognised teaching and assessing qualifications which the role requires to be gained over time.
The role could provide an opportunity for someone wishing to change their career direction who would embrace the challenge of working with and developing young people. This may also be suitable for a recently qualified individual wishing to launch their career as training and development can be provided.
A full driving licence is essential as the role involves visiting estates over a wide geographical area.
