Workshop & Machinery Co-ordinator (Fixed term for 6 months)

£26,418 - £28,044 (Dependent on qualifications and experience)

The post holder will be responsible for the management of the Engineering workshops at Sparsholt College, and supervising staff and students who utilise the equipment and resources. The role includes ensuring a well-prepared and safe working environment, responsibility for the maintenance programmes for a range of farm and workshop machinery and equipment. The Engineering workshops also play an important role in the development of workshop and machinery skills for Agricultural, and Land-based Engineering students, with students working alongside staff on a rota of student duties.

There is a critical role in liaising with the academic staff to provide practical training activities to students in order to enable them to meet curriculum requirements. This will include working with students in the workshop to develop machinery skills when on workshop duties. There is also a requirement to oversee the welding workshops and ensure resources and materials are available for Sparsholt’s welding course provision.

The successful candidate will need to have good communication skills, and relevant experience in the development and maintenance of a high-quality safe workshop environment, maintenance, and servicing of agricultural machinery; staff supervision experience, and a willingness and aptitude for working with students.
