Play a central role in a school with a mission: forming great men

Are you someone who thrives on making a real difference behind the scenes? Do you enjoy enabling others to succeed and ensuring that everything runs seamlessly? St Cuthbert’s Catholic High School — an all-boys school with a proud tradition and a clear vision of forming great men — is seeking an exceptional Personal Assistant to the Headmaster.

This is far more than a traditional administrative role. As the Headmaster’s PA, you will be his trusted professional partner and gatekeeper, ensuring that his time and attention are focused where they matter most. You will manage a fast-paced schedule, prepare polished documents and briefings, coordinate key meetings and events, and maintain clear, efficient communication across the school.

You will also act as the first point of contact for staff, parents, governors, and visitors — representing the Headmaster’s office with professionalism and discretion. Every day will bring new opportunities to contribute, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact on the life of the school.

To thrive in this role, you will:

• be proactive, highly organised, and calm under pressure.

• have the confidence to take initiative and the discretion to handle sensitive information.

• possess exceptional communication skills and a professional, approachable manner.

• share our commitment to the values and ethos that guide our community.

What we are looking for:

• an experienced PA or senior administrator with outstanding organisational and time-management skills.

• strong written and verbal communication, accuracy, and attention to detail.

• proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence with digital systems.

• ability to prioritise tasks, work under pressure, and maintain strict confidentiality.

• experience in an educational setting and knowledge of HR processes, safeguarding, and GDPR would be advantageous.

If you are inspired by the idea of supporting a dedicated school leader, enjoy purposeful work, and want to be part of a mission-driven environment where your contribution truly matters, we warmly invite you to apply.

This is an opportunity to join an impressive, all-boys Catholic School that has enjoyed a reputation as a centre of educational excellence for over one hundred and forty years.

Application forms and further information are available by following the link on our website for submission by 9.00am Monday 26th January 2026. All applications should be made online via our online recruitment portal. Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed.

St Cuthbert’s is first and foremost a Catholic school. Applicants are not required to be practising Catholics but are expected to support and promote the school’s Catholic vision, mission, and values.
