St Osmund's is a friendly and nurturing school which offers a stimulating learning environment where your child will be happy and thrive. As a Catholic school, our faith is at the heart of everything we do, enriching an education that promotes academic, physical, spiritual and social development.
At St Osmund's we aim to support and challenge every child to develop a love of learning enabling them to reach their individual potential. Through fostering effective partnerships with parents and with dedicated, caring staff, we strive to provide a creative and challenging curriculum and create a culture of success and reflection which enables every child to succeed and flourish.
We have the highest expectations of ourselves and our pupils, build excellent relationships throughout the school community and maintain high standards of achievement, which creates a vibrant, happy and successful school.
Our school mission statement, Fidem Fateri Vita – To nurture each child to fulfil their academic, spiritual, moral and physical potential and to show your faith by the way you live has implications for all of us that go beyond our school environment. At St Osmund’s we recognise that each pupil has a duty to serve the community in which they exist and it is each person in our school community’s responsibility to promote the welfare of the community. This applies to every level of community: local, national and international.
Religious Education is at the core of our school and is taught in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church and religious worship is in accordance with its rites and practices. At all times St Osmund’s serves as a witness to the Catholic faith in Our Lord Jesus Christ.
At St Osmund’s we value the strong sense of community that exists between pupils, teachers, governors and parents. We share a love of learning and celebrate each individual for his or her talents and becoming the person God has created them to be. Pupils engage with their faith daily through whole school assemblies, key stage assemblies, liturgies, whole school masses and class worship. Annually, we celebrate together through the Harvest Festival and Barnes Foodbank collection, the Remembrance Liturgy, the Advent Service, the Nativity, the Carol Service, Ash Wednesday Liturgy, Crowning of Our Lady and the Leavers’ Mass.
We try to instil in our pupils the importance of our school mission and that means putting our faith into action through Service and the Common Good. This is filtrated through our House System and fund-raising efforts, our Faith Council and links with our local Parish.
