The children, staff and Governors of Christ Church First School are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Nursery and Reception class teacher to join our friendly and experienced staff team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that has been on a significant journey of improvement and is now in a strong position, with high quality provision across the school and a particularly strong Early Years Foundation Stage. The school continues to grow and improve, with clear momentum around raising standards, enriching provision and securing the very best outcomes for children.
Being part of the Christ Church community is something you work hard to achieve. We are an ambitious, reflective and values driven school where high expectations, care and inclusion sit side by side. In return, being part of our community is deeply rewarding, offering the privilege of working with wonderful children, supportive families and a committed staff team who genuinely care about making a difference.
Our Early Years provision is nurturing, ambitious and well established, placing children’s wellbeing, curiosity and development at the heart of everything we do. Inclusion is fundamental to our work, and we are proud of the way our EYFS provision supports a wide range of needs, enabling every child to feel safe, valued and successful. We are looking for a teacher who brings expertise, resilience and determination to ensure the setting they are leading and working within is inclusive, responsive and aspirational, meeting the needs of all our wonderful children.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the next phase of our improvement journey and to help shape and strengthen provision further as the school continues to develop.
We are looking for an individual who:
- Is an enthusiastic and reflective EYFS practitioner with a strong understanding of high quality Nursery and Reception provision
- Can demonstrate secure practice in early learning, continuous provision and child centred pedagogy, supporting strong outcomes for all children
- Has high expectations for all learners and is deeply committed to inclusive practice, ensuring that provision meets a wide range of needs
- Has the skills, expertise and resilience required to lead and work within an EYFS setting where children’s social, emotional and learning needs are a central focus
- Is confident in adapting provision and practice to support children with diverse needs and starting points
- Builds strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues, recognising the importance of partnership in supporting success
- Works effectively as part of a collaborative and improving team, contributing positively to whole school development
- Is motivated by challenge and excited to be part of a community where high expectations are matched by strong support
- Can fully support and promote the Christian ethos and values of our Church school
- Approaches school life with enthusiasm and professionalism
The school is able to offer:-
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference at the very start of children’s learning journeys
- Wonderful children who are eager to learn and proud of their school
- A supportive, reflective team who work hard for one another and for the community they serve
- Continuous opportunities for professional development
- An ambitious and dedicated staff team
- A supportive community school with a strong Christian ethos
Our School has a dedicated and experienced team of teaching and support staff. We have strong links with the Church, local community and have supportive parents.
Candidates are invited to contact the school and arrange to visit and meet with the Headteacher. If you would like to arrange this, please book an appointment by contacting the school.
