Key Stage 2 Teacher (Years 3 & 4)

Full Time fixed term up to M5 to commence 1/9/26

Based at Norton Sub Hamdon Church School TA14 6SF

Our School is a three class small school with a staff who support each other in everything. We are proud of our school and our adults have high expectations of all pupils and our wonderful children live up to these expectations. Our children demonstrate our school’s values of ‘courage, kindness and respect.’ As a result, there is a happy, calm and purposeful learning environment where both adults and children thrive.

All of our curriculum is carefully planned and sequenced for our school and you will be joining a fun and established teaching team.

We have developed an exciting curriculum offer for our children. Our curriculum is well resourced and we have a number of online planning and assessment tools to support workload. We have invested in these resources to enable our teachers to concentrate on being the best versions of themselves in the classroom.

We are fortunate to have the ongoing support and backing of the Bath and Wells MAT to assist us in making our high aspirations a reality and we have access to excellent CPD opportunities for staff.

Who are you?

We are seeking a professional who has experience in KS2 and has successful experience of the crucial transitions from Year 2 into year 3. Our ideal new teacher will be a professional totally committed to teamwork, ensuring every child and adult can be the best version of themselves.

As a small school, we often rely on creativity and flexibility of our staff to solve challenges… genuinely, no two days are the same!

If you are seeking a new post that allows you to know your children and families very closely, allowing you to have a substantial impact on a community, we want to hear from you.

If you think you could join us on our journey and genuinely contribute to transforming Teaching and Learning for our community, please do come and visit us for a school tour and exploration of our ambitions with Connel Boyle, our Executive Headteacher. To arrange a visit please contact the school.

Who are we?

Norton Sub Hamdon Church School works in close partnership with 3 other small schools within our BWMAT Trust. We are currently developing middle and subject leadership across our 4 schools, making this an exciting time for us. Our developing ethos is that we are four schools but one staff. We believe we offer a uniquely caring, close-knit team that supports each other all day, every day and this is reflected by how our children interact with each other.

Our closing date is 12 noon Friday 15th May 2026 and interviews will take place the week commencing 18th May 2026.

The Bath and Wells Multi-Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS and all relevant pre-employment checks.
