5 Hours 50 minutes per week (1 hour 10 minutes per day Mon to Fri term time only)

Point 3 FTE salary £25,614.00

Actual Salary £3,452.10

£13.28 per hour

The pupils, staff and governors of St Mark’s Primary School wish to appoint a Lunchtime Supervisor to join our friendly and dynamic team. St Mark’s is a large 436 place primary school.  The school was inspected by Ofsted in January 2025 where they stated that we have maintained the previous standards judged ‘good’.  We also received an ‘excellent’ status as a Church School (SIAMS 2022).  In September 2016 St Mark’s became an academy school within the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust.

The role:

As a midday supervisor, you will carry out a range of duties to contribute to the safety, conduct and general welfare of pupils during the midday break period. This includes providing assistance to school and catering staff with basic cleaning and general duties in and around the dining areas. 

The main duties will be:

• Assisting pupils where necessary with the collection of food and the use of cutlery, drinking facilities and other aspects of the midday meal.
• Maintaining good order and excellent hygiene practices in the dining areas.
• Assisting in the removal of tables and chairs where necessary.
• Supervising the movement of pupils to and from the dining area.
• Supervising pupils in designated areas of the school during the midday break and ensuring their safety, welfare and general conduct through appropriate application of the school’s policies and procedures.
• Establishing safe and appropriate behaviour by effective interventions when necessary.
• Completing any documentation required by the school in relation to incidents occurring during the lunchtime break period including writing up significant incidents of behaviour or safety where necessary.
