The pupils, staff and governors are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic team from 1st September 2027.
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant at Norton-Sub-Hamdon Church school. The Teaching Assistant will assist a range of children throughout KS1 in our EYFS/KS1 class. There will be some 1:1 and small group work with specific children including those with Special Educational Needs and those within the Early Years. We are seeking a fun, energetic and creative person who enjoys engaging with children whilst fostering independence. You will support high quality provision in a creative, child led environment thus enabling each individual to feel safe in exploring and extending their own learning. We wish to appoint a dedicated team player with the skills to multi-task and be adaptable.

Norton Sub Hamdon Church School works in partnership with another small school, West Chinnock. Our ethos is that we are two schools but one staff. We believe we offer a uniquely caring, close-knit staff team that supports each other all day, every day and this is reflected by how our children interact with each other.

Our school has a dedicated and experienced team of teaching and support staff. We have strong links with the Church, local community and work in partnership with parents. You will be required to undertake Safeguarding and other training as required

The successful candidate will:
• Have recent and relevant Teaching Assistant experience in at least one Primary School
• Have the knowledge and understanding to work with children within EYFS curriculum and children with a wide range of need and learning experiences including SEND.
• Have aspirational expectations
• Be able to relate effectively with learners and adults
• Be able to support the school’s Christian values
