Teaching Assistant - Additional Needs

• Fixed term contract until 31/08/2027 linked to pupil need/funding
• 20 Hours per week - Term time only (38 working weeks/ 44.6 paid weeks)
• BWMAT C - SCP 5 - 6
• £26,427 - £26, 847 FTE Per annum, pro rata
• Actual Salary from £12, 218 - £12, 412 per year

We are looking for a kind, calm and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team, with a particular focus on supporting children with additional needs. The role will include targeted support during the morning and lunchtime, helping children to access learning, develop confidence and independence, build positive relationships and feel fully included in school life.

Experience of supporting children with SEND is desirable, but we are equally interested in applicants with the right values, approach and willingness to learn.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a good understanding of effective SEND practice, or a strong willingness to learn and develop in this area.
• Is caring, patient, resilient and able to build secure and positive relationships with children.
• Can provide encouragement and reassurance while maintaining high expectations for what children can achieve.
• Understands the importance of helping children develop independence and knows when to 'step in' and when to 'step out'.
• Can adapt activities, resources and communication to meet individual needs and remove barriers to learning.
• Can support children's social communication, emotional literacy and regulation, including during less structured times such as lunch.
• Can work effectively with teachers, the SENCo, support staff and families and follow agreed support plans and strategies.
• Is observant and reflective, contributing to the monitoring and recording of children's progress.
• Is flexible and willing to support children across the school where needed.
• Is supportive of the Christian ethos and inclusive values of our school.
