The Role
Do you love books and enjoy inspiring children to read? We are looking for an enthusiastic School Librarian to help make our libraries welcoming, inclusive spaces where every child can discover the joy of reading.
Working closely with the English Subject Leader and teaching staff, you will bring reading to life through creative displays, reading challenges, competitions, book fairs and a lunchtime library club. You will help children explore new authors, find books that spark their curiosity and grow in confidence as readers.
You will also organise and care for our library resources, help select books that reflect a range of backgrounds, interests and reading abilities, and support pupil librarians to play an active role in library life.
About You
You will bring a love of reading, strong organisational skills and a creative approach to engaging children. You will enjoy working with colleagues and pupils, and be committed to making the library accessible and welcoming to everyone.
This is an opportunity to shape a valued part of school life and help children build a love of reading that lasts beyond the classroom.
Please refer to the candidate information pack, under "supporting documents" for more information about the role.
Fluency Duty
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to converse at ease with pupils, parents and other users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
