About this Role

At St Andrew's, we believe in creating a space where both teachers and students thrive. We’re a small school with a big heart, and we’re looking for a passionate classroom teacher to join our wonderful team. Whether you are an ECT, or looking to take your next career step, we could be the school for you. We offer a warm, friendly, and supportive team where you can truly flourish.

Our ideal start date is Easter 2025, although we will consider a September 2025 start. The role is fixed term to 31/08/2026 with a possibility to extend this should a permanent vacancy arise. We’re proud to have recently received a successful Ofsted report, reflecting the hard work and commitment of our staff and students.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a passion for teaching and is committed to providing the best possible education for every child.
  • Is organised, proactive, and can effectively manage a classroom to create an engaging and positive learning environment.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues and is open to new ideas and professional development.
  • Is enthusiastic about being part of a school community that values creativity, inclusivity, and kindness.

As a school we are very careful around workload and wellbeing. We do this by:

  • giving an extra full day of PPA release each term
  • weekly release slot for subject leaders
  • two-week half-term break for the long Autumn term
  • make sure staff meetings are used so teachers can complete key tasks not add extra jobs to do later
  • flexi-PPA time where possible
  • minimal marking policy, using ‘in the moment verbal feedback’ as our core pedagogy

For further information about this role please refer to the Job Description.

We welcome early applications and will consider holding interviews and appointing before the closing date for strong candidates.

Closing date: Friday 28 March 2025 @9.00am
Interview Date: Monday 31 March or Tuesday 1 April

Shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children.  It is an offence to apply for a role if applicants are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
