Welcome

Staplegrove School is set in beautiful grounds on the outskirts of Taunton. We have seven classes, with no mixed year groups. Our recent Church Inspection graded our school as 'Outstanding' and we would agree. Children are challenged to achieve high standards. They tell us they feel safe and well cared for and the overwhelming majority of parents say they would recommend our school to others.

We are part of the Bath and Wells Multi Academy Trust (or MAT) which is a family of around twenty church schools clustered into three hubs. Our aim is to provide an outstanding education for every child, enhanced by a distinctively Christian ethos. We all work together to be keepers of the Bath and Wells MAT mission statement,' That they may have life, life in all its fullness' John 10:10 These are the words you will see ahead of you when you visit our school.

Our highly skilled staff are committed to providing the very best education possible for each child, developing their academic, artistic and creative, physical and personal skills. We want the children to be confident, able individuals who value themselves and others and are able to make a positive contribution to their community and the wider world. We believe that in order to enable children to reach their full potential and for their unique talents to be nurtured and developed there needs to be a partnership between home and school.

We believe that we provide a safe, caring, happy and well ordered environment where everyone's contribution is valued.

We welcome you to our school.

Ethos and Christian Values

At Staplegrove Church School, our Christian Values are at the heart of our school community. Our core Values of; Respect, Courage, Perseverance, Thankfulness, Truthfulness and Friendship, are integral to our school’s identity and each value, helps to guide us each day to be the best that we can be.

Building on our School’s Christian Foundation, we recognise that the children are our future – what they experience here today they take into tomorrow. The children are at our heart at Staplegrove Church School and their voices are valued in our community. We hope that the children come to understand the key Christian values and apply them to how they live their lives.

Our school is united with the Staplegrove Benefice, sharing in a joint Christian Ethos, comprising of; our children, their families, staff, governors and the parish members of St. John’s the Evangelist Church. Our policies for Religious Education, Collective Worship and Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural ethics are discussed, agreed and reviewed through this joint group. This adds meaning to the Christian life of our school and the local parish.

Our Christian Values

Our Christian Values are at the forefront of all that we strive for in every child at Staplegrove Church School. Our Values are celebrated, lived and help to form our school's safe and nurturing environment where children can be the best version of themselves.

Our whole school community came together on a special journey; with the children at our hearts, every child, the wider community and our Church members, voted for their most favoured Christian Values that were felt to be the most integral in supporting our school’s vision and ethos.

Our school’s six core Christian values, help to guide us every day, support us through all that we may face, nurture a compassionate community of learners in the faith in God and his only son. Giving us hope each day.
