Salary: Grade D–E (£27,733 – £28,634)
We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join our team. This is a key role focused on promoting excellent attendance and punctuality across the College, supporting students to achieve their full potential.
You will work closely with staff, students and families to monitor attendance, implement effective interventions, and contribute to a culture of high expectations and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, record and analyse student attendance and punctuality data
- Implement and support College attendance policies and procedures
- Identify trends and work with colleagues to improve attendance outcomes
- Support vulnerable learners and raise safeguarding concerns where appropriate
- Communicate with parents/carers regarding attendance, including calls and messages
- Attend meetings with parents/carers and external agencies to support student progress
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group interventions for students
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to support student wellbeing and engagement
- Respond to day-to-day queries from staff, students and families
- Contribute to initiatives that encourage, reward and improve attendance
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a good standard of education (minimum GCSEs in English and Maths or equivalent)
- Has experience in an administrative or office-based role
- Is confident using IT systems including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
- Has experience working with young people or in an education, community or care setting
- Can manage a busy workload and remain calm under pressure
- Communicates effectively with people at all levels, showing empathy and professionalism
- Demonstrates excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
