Dear Applicants,
Thank you for your interest in the position of Deputy Headteacher at St Catherine’s Catholic Primary School. Following the retirement of our Deputy Headteacher, this is a unique opportunity to join a leadership team, who are committed to the growth and development of our school, our staff, and our pupils on their continuing faith and learning journey.
At St Catherine’s, we are proud to uphold our identity as a Catholic school, continually striving to ensure Christ is at the centre of all that we do. We nurture a loving, inclusive community, with strong ties to our parish and a deep-rooted commitment to living and teaching Gospel values every day. We are looking for a practising Catholic leader who will actively contribute to the spiritual and educational life of our school, supporting both staff and pupils in worship and faith development, and working collaboratively with our families and parish.
St Catherine’s is a happy place, where our motto ‘Let their light Shine and set the world on fire’' is at the heart of all we do and as a result our pupils thrive. As a small and highly diverse primary school serving a vibrant multi-cultural community, including many pupils with English as an Additional Language, our Deputy Headteacher plays a vital role in championing inclusive practice, fostering pupil progress, and ensuring our curriculum is dynamic, creative, and accessible for all. We are proud of the strong foundations established and seek a leader who will continue this work; someone innovative, compassionate, and skilled in curriculum design, staff development, and whole-school improvement.
The Deputy Head will work closely with the Headteacher, working across a full range of operational and strategic matters and encourage, challenge and inspire staff to achieve the best outcomes for our pupils.
We warmly invite applications from experienced leaders with a strong track record of successful team, curriculum, or phase leadership and a passionate commitment to the distinctive mission and values of Catholic education. The ideal candidate will join us in further developing our curriculum, supporting staff wellbeing and professional development, maintain the highest standards of pupils’ achievement and behaviour and will be committed to the school’s mission, and values.
If you are excited by the prospect of joining a dedicated and faith-filled community, share our ambition to ensure every child flourishes spiritually, socially, and academically, and are eager to help shape the next chapter of St Catherine's journey, we would be delighted to receive your application.
Application forms and further information are available by following the link on our website to our online recruitment portal for submission by Monday 6th October 2025 at 9.00am.
Interviews will be held on Monday 20th October 2025.
