We seek to appoint from January to July 2026, with the option to extend for the right candidate, a native-level French speaker with existing permission to work in the UK, to reside in the School as a Languages Teaching Assistant and fully resident member of staff working with our boarding community on their MFL studies and teaching one U3 class. Strong up-to-date cultural knowledge and a grasp of current idioms is essential. Accommodation is provided.

We are looking for a committed French Language Teaching Assistant. Experience in teaching or tutoring young people would be an advantage, but not necessarily essential. Most important is that he or she should be energetic, flexible, friendly, and enthusiastic about his/her subject.

Working as part of a team is vital and he/she should be able to work constructively within a small, closely-knit and very busy Department in which children matter. It is essential that the person appointed enjoys working with young people.

Closing date: 12 noon, Friday 31st October 2025

Applications will be assessed in order of receipt and interviews may occur at any stage after applications are received. Please apply as soon as possible.

St Catherine’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and an enhanced DBS and barred list check. The School is an equal opportunities employer.
