St Lawrence School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant for a child in Year 3 to join our team, starting 1st September 2026. The successful applicant will stay with the named child until they leave our school, at which point the contract will end. This is expected to be until they leave at the end of Year 6, assuming the child remains on role for the duration of their Primary education.
The role involves working 1:1 with the named child, as well as running small group interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to the named pupil across a range of subjects and year groups
- Work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement individual learning plan
- Foster a positive, nurturing environment that supports emotional and academic development
- Assist with classroom activities, small group work, and one-to-one support
- Promote independence and confidence in pupils with additional needs
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children with SEND (desirable but not essential)
- Is patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic
- Can work flexibly across different age groups and learning needs
- Is a team player with good communication skills
