SEN Teaching Assistant (Resource Base)
- Permanent Contract
- 32.5 Hours per week – Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 3:45pm with 30-minute lunchbreak (school meal provided if required).
- Term time only (38 working weeks and 44.6 paid weeks per year)
- BANES O - £25, 989 - £26, 824 FTE per annum
- Actual salary from £19, 525 - £20, 153 per annum
What we are looking for
Thank you for your interest in working at St. Nicholas Church School. We are looking for a highly organised and well-motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our Resource Base Team, looking after children with SEMH as a primary need. The special needs of these pupils may present emotional and physical demands not common to mainstream schools.
St. Nicholas Church School is looking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to work in our SEMH Resource Bases who:
- Has a good understanding of effective SEND practices and is prepared to reflect and develop;
- Is caring, patient and self-motivated;
- Has high expectations and works to ensure that all children can succeed in their learning;
- Has a passion for education and children;
- Will help pupils to access learning activities through specialist support and determine the need for, prepare and maintain general and specialist equipment and resources;
- Will assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans, behaviour management strategies and personal care programmes;
- Will develop 1:1 mentoring arrangements with pupils and provide support for distressed pupils;
- Enjoys being a team player;
- Has a great sense of humour!
