Upper Pay Scale Teacher
Salary: Upper Pay Scale (UPS1–UPS3)
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Start Date: To be agreed
Are you an experienced teacher ready to make a real difference?
At St Paul’s, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to belong, grow and flourish.
We are looking for an experienced, skilled and committed Upper Pay Scale teacher who can bring excellent classroom practice, strong relationships and a determination to make a difference for our children.
St Paul’s is a growing and evolving primary school, with a Nursery, mainstream classes and specialist provision for children with autism. Our school community is wonderfully diverse, and many of our children face significant barriers to learning. We are proud of the opportunities we create for them and the lengths we go to ensure they succeed.
We need someone who understands that great teaching is not about expecting every child to learn in the same way. It is about adapting, reflecting, maintaining high expectations and finding what works.
About the role
As an Upper Pay Scale teacher, you will be an excellent classroom practitioner who also makes a wider contribution to teaching and learning across the school.
We are particularly interested in someone who can model effective practice, support colleagues and help us continue to strengthen the quality and consistency of teaching.
We are looking for someone who:
Is an excellent, experienced teacher with a proven record of improving pupil outcomes.
Has high expectations for all children, including those with SEND and those experiencing disadvantage.
Understands the importance of adaptive teaching, inclusion and positive behaviour management.
Builds strong, trusting relationships with children, families and colleagues.
Can model effective classroom practice and share their expertise with others.
Is reflective, resilient and willing to adapt their approach to meet the needs of our children.
Is confident in using assessment to identify gaps and plan effective teaching.
Is committed to contributing to school improvement beyond their own classroom.
Shares our values of Courage, Compassion and Community.
What we can offer
A welcoming and supportive school community where relationships matter.
Children who are individual, engaging and deserving of the very best.
A committed team that works hard for one another and for our pupils.
Opportunities to influence teaching and learning across a growing primary school.
Professional development, coaching and opportunities to work with external specialists.
An inclusive environment where staff are encouraged to reflect, innovate and improve.
A leadership team that recognises the complexity of the job and is committed to providing practical support.
Why St Paul’s?
Our vision is Learning in God’s Love — where every child belongs, grows and flourishes.
We are ambitious for our children, regardless of their starting points or the challenges they face. We have invested in specialist provision, nurture support, curriculum development and wider opportunities because we believe that inclusion should be something children experience every day.
We are looking for a teacher who shares that ambition and wants to play an important part in the next stage of our school's development.
If you are an experienced teacher who believes that every child can succeed, and you have the skills, commitment and determination to make that happen, we would love to hear from you.
