Using excellent communication skills, the clerk organises and takes the minutes of meetings, ensures the efficient functioning of the board by providing a range of associated administration duties, and provides advice and guidance to board members to ensure they work within legal and regulatory frameworks.
The role is part-time during school term times, and you would be expected to attend all scheduled meetings at your assigned school(s), held most often either late afternoon or early evening. Much of the administration would be completed flexibly in your own home. Our expectation is that you would work with a minimum of two schools generating an annual income of approximately £2,500 based on an FTE salary of £26,625. Suitably experienced individuals may be considered for deployment at more than two schools.
Experience of taking notes of meetings and the ability to précis complex issues and present the relevant points arising from discussion clearly and concisely is essential. Applicants will be required to share examples of their written communication skills before interview. Induction will include the support of an experienced clerk mentor and relevant development training.
