Our School
Salesian is a co-educational 11-18 Catholic comprehensive school and is part of the Xavier Catholic Education Trust.
The school has 1850 students and is situated on two sites approximately one mile apart, near to the centre of Chertsey. The main school is situated at Guildford Road and our Sixth Form College has 467 students on its own site at Highfield Road.
We work hard to ensure that staff and students are well looked after but we also set exceedingly high expectations of everyone at the school and underperformance is always challenged. When you get the balance right between challenge and support you get great teaching, when you have great teaching the school becomes heavily-oversubscribed and when this is the case parents believe in what you are trying to do and support you in doing it.

The Business & Economics department is a dynamic and progressive department, placing learning and teaching at the heart of everything it does. We are a strong and vibrant team which prides itself on delivering the very best outcomes for pupils. The department has an abundance of experience and technical expertise. Not only is our ethos built around ensuring that our lessons are engaging and rigorous, but also that we are ‘going the extra mile’ for all of our pupils. We ensure they receive the very best support within lessons.

A Level Business and A Level Economics are very popular subject choices at Key Stage 5. We are also oversubscribed at GCSE and remain one of the most popular option subjects within the school. We are proud to offer a vocational curriculum within the department: the Level 1/2 BTEC Tech Award in Enterprise at Key Stage 4 and the Level 3 BTEC in Enterprise & Entrepreneurship at Key Stage 5.
Extra-curricular activities run by the department include visits for A level students to the Mini Factory in Oxford. Young Enterprise is offered to year 12 as part of our weekly Enrichment afternoon and Salesian has a strong record of success at regional level.

Salesian School has an outstanding track record in training and developing middle leaders and senior leaders. Having trained over 30 teachers in the last year alone, we have a wealth of experience in terms of mentoring and developing staff to reach their potential.
