Langshott Primary School is a popular, over-subscribed school in Horley, Surrey, where the behaviour of the pupils is outstanding.  We are looking to appoint a full time, term time only Learning Mentor, to support our pupils.

We offer a beautiful setting, with excellent facilities, supportive staff and enthusiastic children. We are committed to inclusive practices, the achievement of high standards and working in close partnership with parents and the community. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To offer emotional support for pupils of all abilities and needs.
  • To work across the entire age range of the school (4 to 11 years) with whole classes, small groups or individual pupils to help pupils with emotional regulation and building resilience.
  • To work with our EHCP pupils to help deliver the support they need, in or outside the classroom.
  • To support pupils’ development and promote independence in a safe and secure environment.
  • To work with other staff to develop and implement the ISPs for pupils.
  • To encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others.
  • To observe, record and support the development and progress of pupils to identify individual needs and difficulties and to feed back to pupils and staff in relation to their progress and achievement.
  • To oversee and participate in pupils' break and lunchtimes to ensure everyone is happy and safe.
  • To be part of our Safeguarding Team

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
