Thorpe CofE Primary School seeks an experienced Special Needs Assistant to provide support in Year 3. The hours of work are Monday to Friday from 9am to 12.15pm with a 15 minute unpaid morning break. This is a term time only contract commencing ASAP.
Under the direction and supervision of the class teacher core responsibilities include:
- Working on a one to one basis as a Special Needs Assistant in Year 3
- Following the instructions of the class teacher and SENCO
- Planning and prioritising tasks
- Clarifying and explaining instructions
- Communicating effectively
- Motivating pupils to learn
- Organising the learning environment
Key Accountabilities will be:
- Assisting in the delivery of day to day learning activities
- Discussing with and reporting back to teacher on the planning and assessment of the pupil’s work
- Organising and maintaining the learning environment
- Working as part of a team
- Maintaining confidentiality inside and outside the workplace
- Understanding and applying school policies
The Special Needs Assistant may be required to undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by the class teacher
