Rodborough School is seeking a well-qualified, ambitious, and passionate Lead Teacher of Physics to join our Science Department.

Candidates will be excellent practitioners and will have a passion and enthusiasm for the teaching of science as a whole, and a particular interest in the planning and delivery of the Physics curriculum both at KS3 and KS4. The right candidate will be responsible for overseeing the revision and development of the KS3 and KS4 Physics curriculum at Rodborough and ensuring that teaching staff within the Science department are upskilled to implement its delivery. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is perhaps looking for their first subject leadership position. As this role occupies an important strategic position within both the Science department and the school as a whole, it is essential that candidates have high expectations of students, staff and themselves.

It is an exciting time to join the Science department at Rodborough. Science lessons are taught in the Main Block and our existing laboratories are undergoing a period of refurbishment. The Science team work closely with science colleagues across the Trust, under the coordination of the Trust Director of Science, who provides science teachers across the Trust access to invaluable subject specific professional development. Rodborough has a large cohort of Separate Science students, with over half of the cohort following this route.

You will be joining a forward thinking and ambitious department, which under its current new leadership, wishes to develop both the intent and implementation of the science curriculum in order to equip students with the very best education in science.

Rodborough is a consistently popular school with a highly supportive community. This positive relationship enables high standards to be maintained both academically and through the vast range of enrichment which ensures our students have the best possible experience during their time with us. Students are respectful and are proud to uphold the strong values of the school. Colleagues and the leadership team are highly supportive. By joining us, you will benefit from our extensive, whole school, research informed CPD programme that strives to develop all teaching colleagues both pedagogically and professionally.

Rodborough is proud to be a member of the Weydon Multi-Academy Trust (WMAT) and works closely in partnership with other schools in the Trust and its teacher training provider, the i2i SCITT.
