Langshott Primary School is a Good school, situated in Horley, Surrey.  Our school is happy and nurturing and we have high expectations of our pupils and staff.  Relationships between staff and pupils are strong and thus the pupils want to do well and are well behaved.  The buildings are well maintained and look bright and inviting. We have lovely grounds, including a Forest School area.  We want our buildings and grounds to continue to look good and thus need a Premises Manager who will ensure this.

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Premises Manager to join our team.  You will play an important part in the smooth and efficient running of our wonderful school, where staff are friendly and the pupils well behaved. In this role you will work as a key member of staff to provide a security and caretaking service to the school to minimise risks to the health and safety of those using the school site and to limit the possibility of damage to the school premises and resources.

Hours: 32.5 hours a week / 52 weeks a year.  General hours will be 7am - 1.30pm , however, flexibility is required to meet the needs of the school.

The successful candidate will need to have: 

  • A positive demeanour and good communication skills to interact with pupils, staff, parents and visitors in a friendly manner.
  • Strong attention to detail (spotting things that need tidying or fixing).
  • Reliability and honesty to ensure the security of the site.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good organisational skills, so that works are planned over time to ensure a well maintained site.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Ability to oversee others in their work (eg contractors).
  • Physical stamina to perform lifting, carrying, fixing and general cleaning tasks throughout the day.
