Oatlands School is a values-based, 3-form entry Infant School in Weybridge, Surrey serving a close and collaborative community. The school holds its values at its core, with our passionate staff modelling and living their values every day. We are a committed, high-performing and inspirational team, dedicated to nurturing a love of learning.

Due to the retirement of the current incumbent, Oatlands School is excited to be seeking a new School Business Manager. Working closely with the Head Teacher, Senior Leaders and Governors, you will play a critical role in the strategic management of our dynamic and diverse school.

Your experience in a finance role is, of course essential but it’s your self-motivation, communication and organisation skills and attention to detail that will be key to your success in this role.

We would welcome applications from individuals who can also demonstrate the following:

  • Current knowledge and experience of working in finance and managing budgets, ideally in an educational setting
  • Experience of school IT systems (ideally ARBOR or FMS)
  • Competence in HR procedure and policies including recruitment and new-starter management.
  • Experience of facilities management including supplier/contractor management and scheduling.
  • Skills in developing and presenting strategic plans to stakeholders in a variety of situations.

In return, we can offer:

  • A diverse and challenging role with a wide remit to effect change and make a real difference to the effectiveness of the non-teaching functions of the school.
  • Immediate access to a School Business Manager training package of day-to-day skills training and ongoing personal development.
  • An inspiring and collaborative working environment where you can benefit from the knowledge and experience of a well-established and loyal team.
  • A healthy budget, generously supplemented with contributions from an active PTA and popular Breakfast and After School Club.
  • Generous remuneration package, including Local Authority Pension Scheme.

Hours of Work: Up to 30 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (term time plus one week). We can be flexible with days/times for the right candidate.

For a full breakdown of the roles and responsibilities of this position, please see the attached Job Description.

If you have any questions or would like to organise a visit to our lovely school, please contact the school office.
