About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic Manager to lead our facilities teams across our two Blackpool Academies, St George's Secondary, and Baines' Endowed Church of England Primary Academy. Experience of working in schools would be beneficial but is not essential. We also welcome applications from individuals who have relevant experience working in property/project or site maintenance and who are confident in working with staff at all levels. Specific trade strengths in any area would be an advantage. Full health and safety training will be given.
Reporting to our Trust Business Leader, this is a vital management role responsible for ensuring the highest quality of learning environments, providing facilities that are well presented, maintained, compliant, safe and value for money.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work independently as well as part of a team. They will be enthusiastic and confident about working within a school environment and supporting the needs of our Academies.
We are seeking a professional individual who:
- Is reliable, self-motivated, with a flexible approach
- Is an excellent team player
- Can communicate effectively with pupils, parents, staff and contractors
- Has good attention to detail
- Can demonstrate a good working knowledge of IT systems such as email and Microsoft Office
Previous experience in a similar role, as well as having previously worked within an educational environment would be advantageous but not essential.

Application and interview process:
The closing date for applications is Friday, 14th October at 5pm.
Stage 1: Applicants will be shortlisted throughout with those meeting the application criteria being asked to undertake a short telephone competency interview. Those successful at this stage will be invited to stage 2.
Stage 2: Those successful at stage 1 will be invited to a formal interview on Friday, 21st October 2022. This interview will include a prepared presentation by applicants relating to a key element of the role.
