Start date: ASAP
Pay: SCC level S3-S5, dependent on experience
Hours: Flexible, max - 30 hours per week, 8.45am to 3.30pm which will include some lunch and break duties.
Term time plus INSET days (39 weeks)
Contract: Bank / fixed term until August 2025 initially. Review of contract in the summer term.
Job Requirements:
This is primarily a specialist role that requires someone to work, over a prolonged period of time with specific students, and if appropriate, small groups, in an attempt to support them with strategies that will help them to cope in difficult situations. These strategies would also support students both in and outside of school.
- Establish good relationships with students, acting as a role model and providing specific support in a range of subjects
- Communication with SLT, teachers and TAs on specific students and situations
- Communication with parents/carers as and when needed
- Maintaining a safe and positive environment for all students
- Creating opportunities for all students to reach their potential, irrespective of ability
- Possibility to train to become a Deputy DSL and be a part of the safeguarding team
The Right Candidate Will Have:
- Previous TA/Pastoral experience would be beneficial, ideally in a SEN environment
- Relevant pastoral training is beneficial but not essential – Thrive, mental health & wellbeing, first aid & medication
- Good numeracy and literacy skills are beneficial
- A proven ability to work on their own initiative
- A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults
- The ability to use relevant technology/equipment
- A positive can-do attitude
- A commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school
- Ability to work within a team environment.
