Vacancy: Learning Support Assistant

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 31.67 hours per week term time only, 190 days per year (38 weeks). In addition to your commitment of annual hours you are required to attend up to 5 In Service Training (INSET) days. Overtime will be paid for any INSET days worked.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8:30 to 15:15 (including an unpaid 25-minute lunchbreak)

Pay Range: SWAN Grade PS3

Actual Annual Pro-rata Salary: £17,382 (full-time equivalent £23,576 per annum)

Start Date: As soon as possible


We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our fantastic, friendly team. The work may include a mixture of one to one and paired or small group work, both in and out of the nursery/classroom setting and lunchtime supervision.

Your role will be:

  • To support the room leader/ class teacher with their responsibilities for the development and education of children, including those with special needs
  • To use routine supervision and care skills, including nappy changing, to support pupils, including those who have physical, medical, emotional, or educational needs as required
  • To prepare the learning environment and carry out daily checks
  • To build relationships with children and their families
  • To attend In-service Training as required
