The Thomas Deacon Education Trust is a charitable organisation dedicated to raising educational outcomes across a range of primary and secondary phase schools and academies in the East Midlands. As a newly formed multi-academy trust we strive to provide outstanding teaching and learning for all and an ethos and culture that encourages everyone to be the very best that they can be
Our moral purpose is defined through our commitment to see every member of the learning community achieve their full potential. As a Trust, however, we recognise the importance and individuality of the local context of each of our schools and encourage diversity of practice whilst retaining a collective sense of unity in our purpose.
We put learners, and their learning, at the heart of everything we do.
Thomas Deacon Academy is Peterborough’s flagship Academy offering a personalised learning environment for students aged from 7 to 18 years.
Its modern facilities are set in a 43 acre campus and include the Senior Academy, TDA Junior: a purpose built, self-contained learning environment for KS2 children and TDA6, a purpose built study centre for Y12 & Y13 students.
TDA has a flexible but disciplined approach to learning and a clear focus on active engagement in developing the whole person, within and beyond the classroom.
The Academy specialism is the STEM subjects – Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths – but the Academy also has a strong reputation for music, the arts and sports.
TDA offers an extensive extra-curricular programme which includes the Combined Cadet Force and Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
Queen Katharine Academy is a member of the Peterborough based Thomas Deacon Education Trust and opened in September 2017 having emerged from its predecessor school, The Voyager Academy. We are a larger than average 11-19 school in North Peterborough with approximately 1100 students on roll – 300 in the sixth form.
We seek to ensure that students receive a broad and balanced education that enables them to achieve their potential and take the appropriate next steps in their lives as valued and confident members of society.
We have high expectations of our students in all that they do and this is underpinned by a set of guiding principles focussed around the key concept of respect, ensuring that our Academy is a purposeful, calm and safe place to learn. Similarly, we have high expectations of ourselves and strive to provide high quality support and guidance alongside stimulating and engaging learning experiences.
Gladstone Primary Academy opened in February 2017, near the centre of Peterborough. The school is situated across two sites a few minutes walk apart. Two sites gives Gladstone Primary Academy excellent facilities, including 4G pitches, a learning centre, a food technology suite, halls and computer rooms.
We have 600 lively young minds at Gladstone Primary Academy. We help them understand what they can achieve now and what they need to do to become even better. Teachers also know exactly where their students are in terms of achievement and have high aspirations for them.

The Children
Upwood Primary Academy is a vibrant school where children are enthusiastic and motivated to achieve. The children are at the heart of every decision we make to ensure that they are happy, confident and that the opportunities that are provided for them are relevant to their needs both now and for the future.
We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum, where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured to ensure that all children experience success and reach their full potential.
Location
The school is situated just outside the village of Upwood, on the edge of the Upwood ex RAF base which has been sold and reoccupied. It serves the rural communities of Upwood, Raveley and Wistow and draws pupils from outside the catchment area. These villages consist mainly of private dwellings and ex RAF housing adjacent.
The Building
Upwood Primary School was built in 1961, for 210 pupils, and is a one-form entry Local Authority primary school.
The school comprises of 7 classes, together with an assembly hall, stage area, library, ICT suite, cooking area, dining room, two offices and staffroom. It is furnished and equipped to a high standard.
Welbourne Primary Academy is a thriving, one-form entry school. New children and families very quickly become part of our family community. Leaders set high expectations for pupils and staff and a culture of respect and tolerance is consistently modelled by all members of staff. The positive relationships between leaders, staff and pupils support the progress of all pupils at the school.
We are proud of the values we hold most dear and the exemplary students that pass through our doors. Our emphasis upon learning, teaching and outstanding behaviour is reflected in each and every Ofsted report and our pupils are also renowned for their success in extra-curricular sporting activities at a local and national level.
We have high expectations and high aspirations for every one of our students. We encourage our students to be individuals and to take responsibility for their choices as well as teaching them about tolerance and respect towards others.
Our school is moving from strength to strength through each new phase of its journey. Whilst Literacy and Numeracy will always be at the heart of on-going improvements, our attention is also given to developing the creative side of the curriculum, building on the already successful school themes, developing Science, Design Technology, Art and Music. We aim to provide a wealth of experience for all children through an enriched curriculum.
Within its caring and friendly environment, we aim to attain high standards of achievement and behaviour. Warboys Primary Academy has great strengths in supporting children whatever their circumstances. We aim to cater for the needs of all our pupils through our pastoral care and by adapting the curriculum to suit individual needs, thus ensuring all pupils can develop and make good progress. We strive for our pupils to leave us as articulate, responsible, skilled, independent learners who are confident to take advantage of every opportunity available to them throughout their lives.
