We put learners, and their learning, at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

Thomas Deacon Education Trust are looking to appoint a School Staff Instructor (SSI) to join our Combined Cadet Force and assist with all associated activities.

The TDET Combined Cadet Force was founded in 2007 and is one of Britain's leading CCF contingents. The contribution that the 300+ pupils and staff members of the CCF bring to TDET life is highly valued in our primary and secondary academies.

Working across TDET academies the SSI will be responsible for training and instructing staff and cadets on military matters, including range work and drill. You will be required to plan and organise training programmes and ensure that the necessary equipment is suitable and available.

The SSI will be responsible for maintaining and controlling the armoury and liaising regularly with the MOD regarding ammunition use.

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified and hold excellent organisational skills. You will have the ability to communicate with a range of people and a determination to develop cadets.

The Trust offers:

• Excellent salary package.

• Fantastic training/CPD opportunities in a friendly supportive environment.

• Opportunity for progression across Thomas Deacon Education Trust.

• Use of Academy facilities (including a gym and onsite car parking).

• Local Government Pension Scheme.

• An engaging, creative and welcoming environment for staff.

• An inclusive and collaborative approach.

• A talented, highly motivated, committed and professional team of colleagues, both within the school and across the trust.

• An actively supportive Local Governing Body and Trust leadership.

Safeguarding Statement:

Thomas Deacon Education Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The Academy will require the successful candidate to provide satisfactory references and undertake an Enhanced Check with the Disclosure and Barring Service.
