We are seeking enthusiastic, responsible and motivated individuals to join our Holiday Leader team at Tewkesbury Academy Sports Centre, delivering engaging and high‑quality holiday camp activities for children aged 5–12 years during school holiday periods.
You will play a key role in creating a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment where children can be active, creative and confident. Working as part of a supportive team, you will lead fun and stimulating sessions that promote physical activity, wellbeing and positive social interaction.
About the role
As a Holiday Leader, you will:
- Lead and supervise holiday camp activities for children aged 5–12.
- Deliver multi‑sport courses, supporting children of varying ages and abilities.
- Use your skills and interests to deliver specialist activities such as arts and crafts, performing arts, football or other creative and sporting sessions.
- Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and equal opportunities for all children.
- Carry out risk assessments and ensure activities are delivered safely and in line with academy policies and procedures.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
- Support and guide Holiday Assistants to ensure sessions run smoothly.
- Maintain high standards of organisation, safety and engagement throughout the day.
About you
You will have:
- Experience of working with children, ideally aged 5–12, in a holiday, education, childcare or sports setting.
- The confidence and enthusiasm to lead group activities and keep children motivated and engaged.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, calm and professional approach.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team, while also using your own initiative
- A commitment to safeguarding, child welfare, equality and inclusion.
It is advantageous if you hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), particularly for Holiday Leaders supporting water‑based activities, although this is not essential.
We particularly welcome applicants who have specific activity specialisms, such as:
- Multi‑sport delivery
- Football
- Arts and crafts
- Performing arts, dance or drama
