Job Title: Pastoral Support Officer/Assistant Head of House

Actual Annual Salary: £27,361- £29,850 Based on 37 hours per week, term time only.

Full Time Equivalent Salary: £31,954 - £34,860 (CLF Grade D). Based on 37 hours per week, all year round.

Contract Type: Fixed term contract until 31 August 2026

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Term time only + 5 inset days

Provisional Start Date: As soon as possible pending pre-employment checks.

Bristol Metropolitan Academy is looking for a Pastoral Support Officer, who will promote and safeguard students’ welfare and personal development. They will help to facilitate and encourage a learning environment, which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential and have a positive school experience.

About you:

You will demonstrate:

• A good understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting or transferable knowledge of safeguarding.

• Experience of developing and maintaining good relationships with students and having appropriate contact with families and carers of children.

• A keen interest in working with children and young people and a commitment to improving the life chances of students.

• Commitment to continuous improvement through professional development, self-evaluation, and awareness.
