We are seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Officer

The purpose of the Safeguarding Officer is to provide flexible and responsive support to the pastoral provision of the school by overseeing the day to day operational safeguarding issues and deputising for the Designated Safeguarding Lead.

We are looking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual able to cope in a high-pressure environment and deal with constantly changing priorities.

The working hours for this positions are 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 4.30pm, Friday 8.30am to 4.00pm with a 30-minute unpaid break term time plus inset days. Salary will be paid at NJC Points 21 to 24 (£28,900 - £31,099) pro rata.

The right candidate will have:

  • Working knowledge of government legislation relating to Safeguarding and Prevent
  • Experience of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of external agencies that support young people
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
  • To be flexible and adaptable within a changing and challenging environment
  • A high level of communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults
  • A proven ability to work on their own initiative
