At Aurora Cedars School, we're looking for a passionate and resilient Outreach Worker to support students with SEND who are struggling to access full-time education. This is a rewarding opportunity to bridge the gap between home, community, and school - helping young people rediscover their confidence, engagement, and future potential.

Why this role matters

Many of our students face barriers such as anxiety, autism, SEMH needs, and emotionally based school avoidance (EBSA). As an Outreach Worker, you'll play a vital role in helping them re-engage with learning - often delivering education in alternative settings and guiding them back into school life.

What you'll be doing

You will:

✨ Support students on outreach or transition timetables at home, in the community, or off-site

✨ Deliver personalised, high-quality teaching to meet a range of complex needs

✨ Help students make academic, social, and emotional progress

✨ Take ownership of student outcomes, engagement, and wellbeing

✨ Plan and deliver tailored learning programmes up to Functional Skills Level 2

✨ Work closely with the SENCo, teachers, families, and external professionals

✨ Contribute to EHCP reviews, assessments, and progress tracking

✨ Support students to successfully transition back into full-time education

Your work will directly change lives - helping students rebuild routines, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

About you

We're looking for someone who is:

✔ Experienced working with children and young people with SEND, particularly ASD and SEMH

✔ Confident delivering learning in non-traditional settings (home/community)

✔ Calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations

✔ Skilled in building trust and positive relationships with students and families

✔ Organised, proactive, and able to work independently

✔ A strong team player who works well within multidisciplinary environments

Essential experience includes:

  • Supporting pupils with complex needs in a specialist or SEND setting
  • Delivering differentiated learning tailored to individual needs
  • Managing safeguarding concerns appropriately

Desirable:

  • Experience as a TA/HLTA in SEMH settings
  • Knowledge of delivering curriculum across a wide range of

What you'll need

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to travel and work in community-based settings
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Confidence working independently, including lone working situations
