Francis Askew Primary School requires an enthusiastic and motivated HLTA who is an effective classroom practitioner, with experience of working with children across the primary age range. Ideally, they will have knowledge, skills and experience in supporting pupils with SEND. With a proven track record of supporting and enhancing the quality of teaching and improving outcomes for pupils, they will be an excellent role model for staff and children.
Salary: Grade 8, Point 25 £35,235 - Point 28 £37,938, pro rata for 32.50 hours per week, term time plus five training days (39 weeks per year). This is a temporary maternity cover post.

• Has experience of supporting children with SEND, particularly social emotional mental health needs.
• Has experience of speech and language interventions.

Job Requirements:
• Plan and deliver lessons/learning activities to pupils within an agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities according to pupil responses/needs.
• Record progress and achievement in lessons/activities systematically and provide evidence of progress and attainment.
• Develop and implement pupil profiles for children with SEND.
• Use ICT effectively to support learning activities and develop pupils’ competence and independence in its use.
• Experience of delivering structured interventions, specifically Read, Write Inc.
• Work within an established behaviour policy to anticipate and manage behaviour constructively, promoting self-control, independence and positive learning environment.
• Follow school policies relating to teaching and learning, curriculum and safeguarding.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
• GCSE English and Maths Grade A-C (or equivalent).
• HLTA status or equivalent (or QTS).
• Understanding of National Curriculum, EYFS Guidance and other codes of practice eg SEN, Equalities, Safeguarding.
• Knowledge of how to support learners in accessing the curriculum in accordance with the SEND code of practice.
• Ability to establish professional, effective working relationships with a range of partners/colleagues and children and young people.
• Experience across the primary age range but particular knowledge and skills relating to key stage 2.
• High expectations, be motivated and positive and enjoy working as part of a team.
