We are looking for a very special person to join the Leadership Team at West Hill as our school has grown over time. Our visionary and values led primary school for children with special needs is seeking an exceptional leader to continue to drive forward our vision for all of our children to “…achieve as much as they possibly can and flourish in adult life…”
If you are:
• Excited by change and the opportunity to shape provision
• Dynamic, flexible and a collaborative values-led leader
• An outstanding teacher with at least 5 years’ experience in primary or special schools
• And are looking for a next step in your career or a new challenge…
Then a career with THPT, based at West Hill could be just for you.
Our children aged 4-11 all have an Education Health Care Plan identifying the need for specialist support and provision. Their initial learning profile is that of moderate learning difficulties (MLD)
co-occurring with a range of diagnoses and medical and physical needs. Typically working within the Early Years and early Key Stage 1 level, our pupils are hugely determined, inspiring and ready for learning. We are well supported by families, our wider Trust partners and our Local Governing Body.
West Hill is a vibrant and thriving learning environment with an incredible site internally and externally. The learning and development culture helps children and staff to achieve their highest ambitions. Please see attached application pack for further details and details of how to arrange a tour of the school.

The successful candidate will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The Howard Partnership Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Due to the nature of this role, it will be necessary for the appropriate level of criminal record disclosure to be undertaken. In making your application, it is essential you disclose whether you have any pending charges, convictions, bind-overs or cautions and, if so, for which offences. This post will be exempt from the provisions of Section 4 (2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Therefore, applicants are not entitled to withhold information about convictions which for other purposes are ‘spent’ under the provision of the Act, and, in the event of the employment being taken up; any failure to disclose such convictions will result in dismissal or disciplinary action. The fact that a pending charge, conviction, bind-over or caution has been recorded against you will not necessarily debar you from consideration for this appointment.
As well as verification of identity, we ask all successful candidates to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure. In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidance, we may also conduct an online search about any shortlisted candidates as part of our due diligence to identify any matters that might relate directly to our legal duty to meet safeguarding duties, in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
