We have exciting opportunities for passionate, dedicated, and innovative SEN Classroom Teachers to join our team at West Hill School. We are looking for exceptional primary SEN teachers who can help our children to ACHIEVE as much as they possibly can and FLOURISH in adult life. If you have prior experience this does not need to be from a special school and we welcome and support teachers looking to transfer from mainstream. We welcome applications from ECTs and have a strong reputation for positive support. We are able to consider Part-Time options alongside other applicants.

These opportunities have arisen due to our continued expansion. Our primary children work at least 3-4 years away from age-related expectations and all pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan covering a range of complex learning difficulties, including speech and language difficulties, autism and/or medical needs. Our models of learning mean that our children are based in mixed aged groups of 10-12 children. All teachers coordinate a subject as part of a team. We are able to consider both opportunities to teach at KS1 or KS2 currently although we regularly promote and support staff to teach across our school.

West Hill is an incredibly special place to be. We are a newly formed school supporting children with a range of additional needs at primary level. All our children have additional needs and an Education, Health and Care Plan to support their learning.

Teachers at West Hill need to be team players and who embrace change as an opportunity. We are a “can do” school and we want innovation and enthusiasm to help us continue to develop our provision with us and drive forward our high standards. You will be a confident and adaptable individual who is ready to become part of our community.

 THPT can offer:

  • An opportunity to be part of a dynamic and developing organisation
  • Excellent benefit package to include Cycle to Work, Sainsbury’s Loyalty Discount and access to discount schemes
  • Fantastic Local Government Pension Scheme, including generous employer contributions
  • Rewards and Benefits Scheme that includes Loyalty and Service Awards

Values and Behaviours:

We are a values-based organisation and seek to recruit individuals who can demonstrate our values. Our values will be assessed through the selection process, so we ask all applicants when providing their supporting statement to also incorporate not only how they meet the essential criteria for the role but to also demonstrate our values.

Our values are:

Integrity - displaying honesty and having strong moral principles

Partnership - working together and taking collective ownership to achieve the same goals

Advocacy - working hard on behalf of others to maximise their success

Resilience - finding success again after something difficult or negative has happened

Compassion - displaying empathy towards and a desire to help others

Aspiration - aiming high to achieve success

Please ensure your supporting statement reflects our Values
