This is a permanent role, working 29.5 hours per week/39 weeks a year (term time).

Working Pattern: 9:00am to 3:20pm, Monday to Thursday, and 8:40am to 3:20pm, Friday.

We are looking for enthusiastic Special Needs Assistants to work in class alongside a Teacher and Teaching Assistant where there is an identified need for additional pupil support. We are looking for people who will act as a positive role model to our students and who under direction of the class teacher, will be able to support our pupils in their progress and learning using specialised SEN strategies across the school.

The post-holder will work alongside the class teacher and Lead TA to raise the learning and attainment of all pupils in both academic and EHCP areas. Supporting pupils individually or in groups so they can access all areas of the curriculum and helping to promote pupils’ independence.

If you have previous experience in this field, it would be an advantage however this is not a requirement as we offer comprehensive induction and training package to all new employees. To be a successful candidate, you must have basic numeracy and literacy skills e.g., GCSE qualification in English and Maths or equivalent and you should have a basic understanding of Health and Safety regulations, basic IT skills and an enthusiasm to learn.
