We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate, dedicated, and innovative Sport and Extended Services Lead to join our team at West Hill School. We are looking for an exceptional and experienced individual who can help our children to ACHIEVE as much as they possible can and FLOURISH in adult life. We are seeking someone with prior experience of wider sports interventions, ideally including swimming. You will have led on coaching and working alongside young people to develop and lead clubs and the PE curriculum within school. Ideally you will have held previous roles working with children with additional needs although this is not a pre requisite if you are keen to develop your skills and learn.

The post initially will be based across two of the special school sites within The Howard Partnership Trust. Your main base will be West Hill and two days per week at our newest school Fox Grove. West Hill is a primary only setting, supporting children from 4-11. Fox Grove is a new special school which opened in September 2021. Fox Grove is a new special school opening in September 2021 supporting children and young people with autism in both primary and secondary phases. We are now seeking to appoint an exceptional sports coach and extended services lead who is passionate about getting all our children active.

Our primary children work at least 3-4 years away from age-related expectations and all pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan covering a range of complex learning difficulties, including speech and language difficulties, autism and/or medical needs. Our models of learning mean that our children are based in mixed aged groups of between 8-12 children.

We can offer you:

• Keen and eager children who are learning how to learn and ultimately love learning

• Friendly and support staff, parents and governors

• Varied curriculum and development opportunities

• Amazing environments in which children really thrive

Staff in our schools need to be team players and who embrace change as an opportunity. We are a “can do” organisation and we want innovation and enthusiasm to help us continue to develop our provisions with us and drive forward our high standards. You will be a confident and adaptable individual who is ready to become part of our community.

If, prior to applying you are interested in finding out more about this role, you are warmly welcomed to contact Sam Crosby our School Business Manager and we will be pleased to talk to you further.
