We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join the team at the Thomas Knyvett College.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 8:20am – 3:08pm, with an hour unpaid lunch break.

Would you like to make a difference by supporting students with special educational needs in a mainstream setting?

Would you like to develop your skills in a supportive, friendly and experienced team?

Are you a Graduate looking to gain experience before training to be a teacher?

Are you currently in the sixth form and not sure what to do next year?

Are you a nurturing, patient and caring person who would welcome the opportunity to support students with special educational needs and/or disabilities academically and pastorally?

Whilst previous experience or an interest in teaching would be an advantage, we welcome anyone who has a genuine interest in developing their skills in this area.

This role supports the teacher in assisting with the planning, preparation, and development of work programmes for individuals and groups of students. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal skills and listening skills with a commitment to helping.

The successful candidate should have basic numeracy and literacy skills e.g. through GCSE qualification in English and Maths or equivalent, or able to evidence ability at an equivalent level.

Thomas Knyvett College is a successful, over-subscribed school. We have made rapid and sustained progress over the last five years. We see the College as the central resource for learning and support in the local community and continue to strive for excellence in all we do. Ashford train station is very close to the school allowing for easy travel for London or Surrey.
